Frederic Chopin

Why Chopin?

Frederic Chopin was born in Poland in 1810, near the city of Warsaw. When he was only 6 months old, his family moved to Warsaw, where his father taught French language lessons, and his mother taught piano lessons.

Chopin was very talented, and by the age of seven, he began giving public piano concerts. It was at this age that he wrote his first musical compositions, which still exist today. When he was 19 years old, his teachers said that he was a musical genius.

Chopin became one of the more important composers of piano music, and most classical pianists consider his music to be the most important music for the piano.
